Please excuse - I think I never thanked you for your email and for the information which you gave me.
Right now, in Germany, December 2010, some few politicians still insist on building this four-lane highway no matter what are the costs - although there is no justification for this at all. With only approximately 5000 vehciles per day not even 3 lanes can be justified, let alone 4!
Besides, beginning of November I learnt something really new and amazing: The figures are all wrong. The real cost-benefit-ratio is way too low to allow a 4 lane highway between the Czech border and the German A93 or even A9. So I am presently in contact with Bayreuth and Berlin and Munich, trying to sort this out, trying to get our German politicians to correct the mistake.
We really wish that the responsible people in Germany were as clever and sensible as you, our Czech neighbours!
Please find attached some information (partly in German, please excuse), and if you are interested please visit our website www.fichtelgebirgsautobahn.info, which we are creating at the moment - which is available in German only at the moment as well, please excuse.
Again, thank you for your kind email -
Best regards from Germany,
Kerstin Popp
